Behind the scenes of American Idol, the secret of spiked heels, pranks on friendships and the games going on under the judges’ table!

Those old days: American Idol memories
Remember the time when American Idol ruled TV? On Jennifer Hudson’s show in 2023, Paula Abdul told some such stories that it became difficult to stop laughing.
Paula said that in the early days of the show, she was so upset by Simon Cowell’s sharp comments that she adopted a special “weapon”!
“I used to wear pointed heels on purpose,” Paula said, smiling, “so that I could kick Simon under the judges table when he became too ruthless.”
What a funny way to respond to his sharp comments!
The same old Simon, even after becoming a father
Paula also told that these days Simon has become a little “calm”.
“After becoming a father, he has become quite melo,” she said.
But then laughingly added, “But he hasn’t changed much… he still makes the same stinging comments!”
Funny moments of friendship
Paula shared another interesting thing. Whenever she and Simon meet, Simon starts joking with them.
“He calls me like I call my little Chihuahua dogs,” Paula said, laughing. Friendship is so strange, isn’t it?
The Golden Era of American Idol
Paula, Simon and Randy Jackson – these three judges were the faces of American Idol who made the show a superhit.
From the beginning of the show in June 2002 till the entire eight seasons, these three worked together.
The audience was delighted to see the chemistry of the three in every episode.
Time to say goodbye
In 2009, Paula said goodbye to the show, and the next year in 2010, Simon also left the show.
But the memories that these two made are still fresh in the hearts of the fans.
What has changed, what has remained the same
People change with time, but some things remain the same.
Paula and Simon’s friendship is also something like this.
Even today, when these two meet, the same old jokes and pranks are cracked.
Only now, Paula doesn’t need to wear pointed heels to respond to Simon’s sharp comments!
Listening to such stories makes one realise how colourful and fun the world of TV shows is behind the scenes.
Those days of American Idol may be over, but this banter between Paula and Simon will always be remembered.
