The Phone Call That Made Everyone Laugh
Something strange happened on the October 21st episode of Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast. Christopher Meloni was talking to Amy on webcam when suddenly his screen froze.
It turned out it was Mariska Hargitay calling at that very moment!
Christopher joked, “She was like, ‘Why aren’t you picking up? Are you naked?'” Amy burst out laughing.
The funny thing is, Mariska had no idea Christopher was on Amy’s podcast at the time!
Now imagine how funny it would be if two of your friends were talking about each other, and you knew it, but they didn’t!
A Little Prank on FaceTime
Christopher asked Amy, “Should I call her?” and then he FaceTimed Mariska.
Amy was told to remain silent, as she could see and hear everything from the other side of the screen.
When Mariska answered the call, Christopher playfully asked, “How are you, girlfriend?” The conversation started about lemons, but soon Christopher jokingly asked, “Do you want nudies?” Mariska also jokingly asked, “Can I have some?”
All this while, Amy was quietly laughing from her studio.
Imagine how awkward it must feel for her when two friends are talking and one doesn’t know a third person is listening in!
When Mariska mentioned Amy’s name
The funniest part came when Christopher asked Mariska where she was going. Mariska said, “I’m going to Amy Poehler right now.”
Amy’s reaction was amazing! Her jaw dropped open and she started waving her hands in the air.
Christopher laughed even louder because he was amused by Amy’s condition.
Mariska continued, “I’ve met him, but I don’t know him that well.” Imagine how it would feel to have someone talking about you like that in front of you? Amy later said, “I was so nervous. I actually started sweating.”
The Real Friendship of SVU Characters
When Mariska appeared on the podcast, she talked about her first meeting with Christopher. She described their audition process as “magical.”
“I have a different personality, and Chris and I, I think we bonded because we both have a similar sense of humor, a sense of playfulness, a sense of risk-taking.
We have that trust between us that, ‘I love you, it’s safe here, so I can tease you,'” Mariska said.
