Chuck Lorre’s new Netflix show ‘Leanne’ to bring back old characters?

A new wave of laughter on Netflix
The king of hit shows, Chuck Lorre, is back, and this time he has launched a new comedy show called ‘Leanne‘ on Netflix.
72-year-old Lorre has created this funny show along with comedian Leanne Morgan and writer Susan McMartin.
A woman’s new beginning
The story of ‘Leanne’ revolves around the character of Leanne Morgan, whose 33-year-old husband leaves her and goes with someone else.
Now a grandmother has to learn to live a single life – that too in a small town in Tennessee!
Kristen Johnston’s strong style
In the show, Kristen Johnston is playing the role of Leanne’s sister Carol.
Both these actresses are so well-matched on screen that Lorre knew at first glance – “These two women will do wonders together!”
Will the old characters return?
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Lorre revealed which characters from her old shows she would like to see on ‘Leanne’.
Bonnie: The Queen of Fun
The first name that came up was Allison Janney’s character Bonnie, who played a recovering addict on ‘Mom.’
Johnston suggested, “I think Bonnie could have some fun,” to which Lorre immediately agreed, “Oh, Bonnie would turn the world upside down!”

Grace: Brett Butler’s iconic role
The second name was Brett Butler’s character Grace, a single mom and recovering alcoholic on ‘Grace Under Fire.’
Interestingly, people often compare Morgan to Butler, though Johnston says the two have “totally different vibes.”
Old friends, new journey
Johnston and Lorre have previously worked together on ‘Mom’, where Johnston played Tammy.
“Working with Johnston again is a gift. Her scenes with Allison Janney in ‘Mom’ were a comedy writer’s dream,” Lorre said.
