Dacre Montgomery also shared his excitement for the Duffer Brothers’ future projects beyond the Netflix series.

Dacre Montgomery Is Ready for Life Beyond Hawkins
If you’re feeling a little sad about Stranger Things ending, don’t worry—Dacre Montgomery (a.k.a. the super intense, but beloved, Billy Hargrove) is actually pretty excited about what comes next!1
The 31-year-old actor recently chatted about his career, and even though his character had that memorable, explosive death back in Season 3 (and a brief return in Max’s nightmares), Dacre has nothing but profound gratitude for the show.
The Stranger Things Legacy
He told us that playing Billy has been “everything to me in my career and it’s made me who I am today.”
It’s clear that the connection to the show is still a huge part of his life, especially since the fans are still so supportive years after his character’s arc wrapped up.
Why He’s Hyped for the Finale
What he’s most enthusiastic about isn’t the final season’s release on December 31st, but what’s next for the show’s masterminds, the Duffer Brothers!
Dacre is convinced that with Stranger Things finally finished, the Duffers can unleash all their other brilliant ideas.
He put it perfectly: “If people love Stranger Things, imagine what else they can do.”
He’s talking about their two new Netflix series in development:
- The Boroughs (a supernatural mystery set in a retirement community, starring Geena Davis)
- Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen (a psychological horror centered on a chaotic wedding)
Dacre’s New Project is Stacked
Dacre is definitely not slowing down himself! He’s starring in a brand-new historical crime thriller called Dead Man’s Wire.
The movie, directed by Gus Van Sant, tells the wild, true story of a dramatic 1977 kidnapping of a prominent banker.
Dacre plays the hostage, Richard Hall, who is held at gunpoint with a shotgun wired to his head (yikes!).
It has an amazing cast alongside him, including Bill Skarsgård, Colman Domingo, Cary Elwes, Myha’la, and the legendary Al Pacino.
If that sounds like a must-see, you won’t have to wait long—it hits theaters on January 9th.
Ultimately, Dacre’s outlook reminds us that even big endings, like the final bow of Stranger Things, are really just the start of exciting new chapters for everyone involved!
