Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers divorce: Whose truth, whose lie?

Allegations of theft, violence and cheating between Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers.

Marriage breakdown goes public

The separation between Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers has quickly become one of Hollywood’s messiest divorces.

What started out as a simple July 7 filing has turned into a storm of shocking allegations from both parties.

Restraining order and stolen devices

Richards’ attorney Brett Berman has fired back after Phypers leveled multiple damaging claims at the actress.

According to Berman, Phypers was not only abusive — he is now actively harassing Richards since receiving a temporary restraining order.

“He has continued to harass Richards by spreading private information from her cell phone and laptop, which he stole,” Berman said.

“These actions constantly disturb her peace.”

Serious abuse allegations

The 54-year-old actress has painted a scary picture of life with Phypers.

Court documents reveal that he would “violently choke me, violently press my head with both hands” and even “threaten to kill me.”

A restraining order is currently in place against the 53-year-old due to these allegations.

Phypers hits back with infidelity allegations

Not staying silent, Phypers told TMZ on July 19 that Richards cheated on him earlier this year.

He claims he saw revealing selfies and messages between Richards and another man on her laptop, including exchanges like “sweet dreams” and plans to meet up.

Despite the alleged affair, Phypers says the couple initially decided to stay together after he confronted her.

The “Vomit Jacket” Response

In response to Richards’ lawyer’s statement, Phypers pulled no punches, citing a memorable TV moment from her time on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

“Unfortunately, it appears Denise is experiencing one of her now famous ‘vomit jacket’ moments,” he said, adding, “Nothing was stolen, and nothing is missing—except, perhaps, Richards’ moral compass.”

Addiction Allegations

The situation worsened when Phypers sent a letter to friends and family claiming Richards has a serious addiction problem.

“For nearly a decade, she has been addicted to Vicodin (which she jokingly calls ‘vitamin D’ or ‘white chestnut’), combined with Adderall and tequila,” she alleged in the letter obtained by Page Six.

They expressed concern about Richards driving drunk with their 14-year-old daughter Eloise around.

Six years of marriage, now ruined

The couple, who were married in 2018, officially split on July 4, 2025, with Phypers citing “irreconcilable differences” in her divorce filing.

Richards’ team says she will not be addressing these “false allegations” publicly, preferring instead to settle the matter in court.

Meanwhile, Phypers denies all abuse claims, calling them “completely false and deeply hurtful.”

As this Hollywood divorce continues to unravel, one thing is clear: There are two very different versions of what happened in this marriage, and the truth probably lies somewhere in between.
