‘Dancing with the Stars’ judge Derek Hough recently celebrated his pregnant wife, Hayley Erbert, on her 31st birthday in a very special way.
On October 11th, Derek surprised his wife by taking her on a romantic “babymoon” trip.
Derek, 40, shared a sweet video of the trip on Instagram.
In the caption, he called Hayley his “beautiful wife” and explained that he was celebrating in this “special place” where time slows down, and everything feels perfect.”
He expressed that this little babymoon was nothing short of magical, especially just before their biggest adventure (the baby) arrives.
Additionally, Derek has fondly called his wife “My Joy,” “My Queen,” and “My Rockstar” on Instagram Stories.
From DWTS to ‘Mother Tree’
Derek and Hayley’s love story began in 2015 while they were working together on DWTS.
After seven years of dating, they got engaged in June 2022 and tied the knot in August 2023 in the beautiful California landscape.
Their wedding venue was also very symbolic. Hayley told PEOPLE that they married in front of a “mother tree,” surrounded by small branches.
This symbolizes how a mother is protected by her “army of children.”
And now, the couple is about to start their own family.
When Together Through Every Challenge
The couple has experienced significant ups and downs over the past few years.
In late 2023, Hayley underwent an emergency craniectomy.
This happened while they were already married.
They held each other in strong support during these difficult times, and the depth of their relationship overcame every challenge.
