Derek Hough refuted Ryan Seacrest's claim

Ryan’s Accusation, Derek’s Response

‘Celebrity Wheel of Fortune’ host Ryan Seacrest made a rather strange claim! He alleged in an interview that professional dancer Derek Hough had jumped on the show’s famous wheel.

Ryan said that during a commercial break, Derek stood in the middle of the wheel and was asking his co-star Bruno Tonioli to spin it.

Ryan said, “We told him please don’t do that, because the wheel could break.”

“That’s Absolutely False,” Derek’s Strong Reply

Two days later, Derek Hough strongly denied this claim on his Instagram Story.

He shared a screenshot of Ryan’s statement and wrote, “BTW, this is 1000% absolutely not true.”

Derek admitted that the idea was certainly fun, but said he would never do such a thing. He said, “I would never disrespect a set like that, even though spinning on the wheel like a cake would be awesome!”

Celebrating the Win with More Fun

In reality, Derek did win that episode and earned $63,350 for his charity, ‘Feeding America’.

While celebrating his win, he did jump on his podium, but stayed far away from the wheel.

So, he didn’t damage the set, he just expressed his joy.

What’s the Past Connection Between the Two?

This amusing feud becomes even more interesting because Ryan and Derek share a past connection. Ryan once dated Derek’s sister, Julianne Hough.

They’re no longer together, but this new spat shows that their relationship can still make headlines.

However, it seems the whole thing was just a funny misunderstanding, and nothing actually happened!
