Find out how Dierks Bentley and Cassidy sleep better by sleeping on different mattresses.

Separate Bedroom Decision
After nearly 20 years together, country star Dierks Bentley and his wife, Cassidy, have made a surprising sleep decision: They no longer sleep in the same room, but in separate rooms.
On Bobby Bones’ BobbyCast podcast, Dierks revealed that he got rid of his bed to clear the boundaries between “church and state.”
Two mattresses, two stories
Bentley explains that sleeping in the same bed doesn’t work for them anymore.
They have three pillows that must be positioned just right.
Cassidy’s sudden movement wakes him up.
To avoid confusion, they have two platform beds, two box springs and two mattresses—one for Dierks, one for Cassidy.
Comfort by chance
Cassidy can now move around freely on their bed, while Dierks gets as much space as he needs.
“She used to sleep on the couch, but now she sleeps in the spare room we have,” he laughed.
The move gives the couple better sleep and less conflict.
Intent to get back together
Bentley admits they don’t want to move too far, though.
“As soon as I get home from my break, we’re going to try sleeping in the same room again,” he said.
They plan to start sleeping together again before the end of the year to bring back the romance and closeness.
Family credit
Dierks and Cassidy married in secret in December 2005.
They were eighth-grade mates and bonded amid the complexities of college.
They have three children: Evalyn Day, Jordan Catherine and Knox.
Bentley says their kids have played a major role in strengthening their relationship.
“The kids taught us to be on the same team,” he says.
New Album Roundup
In between far-flung shows and touring, Dierks released his new album, Broken Branches, in June.
Still, family is top priority. The moments he does spend at home are spent trying to maintain balance in every aspect, from sleep quality to date nights.
This unique sleep strategy proves that sometimes love needs a little distance so two hearts can come back to each other with open minds.
