Sabrina Impacciatore reveals the fun truth about her onscreen chemistry with Domhnall Gleeson.

Esmeralda’s challenge
Sabrina Impacciatore played Esmeralda Grande in ‘The Paper’, who is a brilliant comic and a little mischievous.
This role was the opposite of her real life, so every day on the set was a new challenge for her.
Sabrina herself says that it was not easy to grasp the interesting but slightly dangerous mindset of this character.
Everyday confusion
Sabrina said, “Every day during production, I used to think – is this my last Hollywood chance?”
On one hand, she was afraid of how her Italian comedy would survive in the world, while on the other hand, it was also a big challenge to bring seriousness into Esmeralda’s cunningness.
Domhnall’s seriousness
Her onscreen sparring partner was Domhnall Gleeson, who plays Ned.
Sabrina revealed that Domhnall was so focused while acting that it was hard to stop herself from making him laugh.
His serious attention inspired Sabrina to get even sharper.
Domhnall is actually funny
On the set, Sabrina was sure that Domhnall hated her, as they both kept teasing each other on screen.
But in real life, Domhnall turned out to be the best comedian.
“He is a bundle of laughter—his funny side made our real bond even more fun,” says Sabrina.
Social media concerns
The show released on Peacock on September 4 and was renewed for a second season without any wait.
Sabrina revealed that she was scared even to open Instagram.
“I only read the good reviews and sent the rest to my mom,” she said, laughing.
Battlefield of success
‘The White Lotus’ had changed Sabrina’s life and ‘The Paper’ again increased her momentum.
She says names like Mike White and John Krasinski were part of the story that introduced her to the creator of The Office.
Each time, Sabrina thought, “This is where I’m meant to be.”
Signs of Destiny
Sabrina feels her father, Enea Impacciatore, also helped her along the way.
Her father’s passing just before auditions, then suddenly landing big roles—she believes it was all a gift from a higher power.
‘The Paper’ is currently streaming on Peacock.
