Erika Jayne recently opened up about her deep feelings for her ex, Tom Girardi, during a spa day with her RHOBH co-star, Sutton Stracke.

The 54-year-old reality star admitted that she’s still heartbroken by Tom’s legal troubles and the fact that he’s in prison.

She admitted, “My heart is broken. It’s awful to know that person and be married to him for so long.”

Watching him go to jail, knowing he’ll likely die there, has clearly taken a toll on her.

Hard to Say Goodbye

When Sutton asked if Erika was planning to visit Tom, who began serving his seven-year sentence in July, Erika was clearly confused. She replied, “I don’t know, but I’ve thought the same thing.”

For a moment, she even said, quite honestly, that she wished he had died before going to prison “so she could end it all.”

Tom, now 86 and not well, was convicted of stealing more than $15 million from clients over a ten-year period and was sentenced on his birthday.

To visit, or not?

The reality star has seriously considered whether she should visit her estranged husband in prison.

She wondered aloud, “Will he even want to see me? Will he know who I am?”, referring to his struggles with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Erika is facing the harsh reality that she may not get a perfect, “magical answer” or any real closure from him.

“Sometimes you don’t get closure—you have to find it yourself,” she realized.

A Never-Ending Legal Headache

Five years after filing for divorce after their 22-year marriage, Erika is still grappling with the consequences of his crimes.

Even though she says she knew nothing and hasn’t been accused of anything, she’s still fighting his fraud case.

She admitted, “I don’t know if I’ll ever get over this.”

Her future remains uncertain as she tries to clear her name and finally move on from the relationship that continues to plague her public life.
