Gerry Turner’s Marriage Truth: Forced to Sleep on the Sofa?

Why did The Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner’s marriage to Theresa Nist fall apart?

The Beginning Was Unusual

On ‘The Golden Bachelor’ show, Gerry Turner proposed to Theresa Nist, expressed his love in Costa Rica, and got married with great fanfare in January 2024.

Everyone thought they would be happy now. But according to Gerry, everything changed just five days after the wedding.

Their honeymoon phase vanished, and real life took strange turns.

The Sofa Became His New Address

According to Gerry, on the first night after the wedding, when they arrived at Theresa’s house, she told him, “I have work tomorrow, I need a good night’s sleep.

Will you sleep on the sofa?” Gerry outwardly agreed, but inwardly he was shocked. Even after the wedding, his wife was making him sleep on a separate sofa? This hurt him deeply.

Did the Love Fade Away?

Gerry says that Theresa’s loving behavior was limited to Costa Rica.

After returning to America, she started creating distance. She started talking to him less, and didn’t prioritize him.

One day, she even objected to Gerry’s driving and clothes. Gerry thought, “I drove 14 hours to get here, only to sleep on the sofa and be criticized about my clothes?”

He complained that the real joys of his life had been snatched away from him.

Why the Decision to Divorce?

These small things added up to create a big distance. The relationship that looked so beautiful on TV only lasted three months in real life. For Gerry, it was a painful experience.

Now, all these things will be mentioned in his upcoming book, ‘Golden Years’. Perhaps he wants to feel relieved by expressing what’s on his mind.
