Heather Rae El Moussa’s Maternity Leave
It was March 2023. Heather shared her harrowing story in an interview with E! News. She was explaining how Season 7 of ‘Selling Sunset‘ was being shot, but why she wasn’t being called.
She said, “I’m back from maternity leave, excited to get back to work… but I haven’t gotten a call yet. It’s a little frustrating.”
Furthermore, she also felt that being ignored after being involved in the show since its pilot episode wasn’t fair.
Became a Superstar on ‘The Flip Off’ Again
Finally, she made a brief appearance in season 7, and then was completely absent until season 9. But during this time, she forged a new path for herself!
Now she stars in the HGTV show ‘The Flip Off’ with her husband Tarek and his ex-wife Christina Haack. So, when one door closed, another opened.
The Truth Behind the Curtain
The real story came to light in April 2024 when she poured her heart out on a podcast.
She said, “Now that I think about it, it was a blessing that they didn’t call me back.” Why? Because filming for ‘Selling Sunset’ completely dominated her life.
She explained, “I never knew when I was going to shoot. I would get a call suddenly.
This show had taken over my entire life. It became difficult to do my real work, i.e., real estate.”
And what’s more, she confessed that there were days when she would come home and cry. Her husband, Tarek, confirmed this, saying, “It was like that every day.”
Imagine the show that appears so glamorous to the world was so stressful in reality.
Life Now in a New Flavor
So today, Heather is away from that turmoil and on a new journey. Season 9 of ‘Selling Sunset’ has arrived on Netflix, in which she has a special appearance.
But her true energy is now in her own show. Sometimes the best turnaround in life is when you realize that the closing of one door is a signal of the loss of new and better opportunities.
