New characters, old story
Jamie Roy plays Brian Fraser in Starz’s new prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood.
He is the father of Sam Heughan’s famous character Jamie Fraser.
Interestingly, Sam gave Jamie some special advice during the shooting: “Appreciate every moment, even on the tough days.” This advice proved to be very valuable for him.
Star’s support
Sam Heughan’s presence at the premiere in Los Angeles on July 28 made Jamie very happy.
The veteran actor’s liking the show was a true validation of his work.
Discussing his casting, Jamie recalls the Scottish proverb, “What is meant for you will not go away from you.”
Initially, he auditioned for a small role in Outlander, but fate landed him a big role in the prequel.

From day one, Jamie received an abundance of love and support from fans, showrunners Matt Roberts and Meryl Davis, and co-star Harriet Slater.
The chemistry between Jamie and Harriet from the very first episode created amazing chemistry for Reid, allowing them to portray Brian and Ellen Fraser’s romance in a very authentic way as the season progressed.
