Jay Leno surprised Harrison Ford by making a unique toilet seat for him using a 3D printer.

A strange but interesting request
Jay Leno told PEOPLE that Harrison Ford asked him for a strange but important help.
There was an old, now-discontinued toilet in Ford’s Wyoming office.
It was impossible to find its seat; no help came from plumber friends.
So Ford called Leno and asked, “Can you 3D print this seat for me?”
Leno immediately said yes and ordered the old seat.
The unmatched art of 3D printer
Leno has several 3D printers in his garage, which had already created shapes, parts and gears in the demo.
He scanned the old seat, prepared the model, and sent it directly to the 3D fabricator.
A few hours later, the new, exactly matching seat was ready.
Ford was stunned when he saw it for the first time.
“He was surprised that it turned out so perfect,” Leno said, laughing.
Surprising message on NPR Wild Card
This was first revealed when Leno accidentally called Ford on NPR’s Wild Card podcast.
Rachel Martin asked Ford, “Jay Leno calling you right now?”
Ford innocently said, “Yes, about my toilet seat.”
By that time, many listeners were just laughing.
Ford joked that it was not easy to talk to Jay, but this project was fun.
Friendship made with technology
Leno and Ford last met in 2014 after ‘The Tonight Show’.
Ford said that Jay accepted this work without any hesitation.
This shows how strong the old friendship between the two is.
Sometimes, strange replacements in life also deepen relationships.
