The couple, who confirmed their relationship in June, have been virtually inseparable since leaving the show.
Funny nickname reveals relationship’s spontaneity
In a recent interview that caught everyone’s attention, Hughes shared a surprising personal detail: JoJo has lovingly named his testicles “Jimmy and Timmy.”
The fun revelation came when E! News asked Siwa about her preference for rhyming names, noting that she had previously expressed a desire for future children to be named Freddy, Teddy and Eddy.
A journey of identity through reality TV
The relationship began during a significant personal transition for Siwa.
While filming Celebrity Big Brother, she felt a shift in the way she understood her identity.
Despite previously identifying as lesbian, the show helped her realize she identified more broadly as queer, which coincided with the end of her relationship with nonbinary ex-partner Kath Ebbs.
Making a long-distance relationship work
Despite the geographical challenges, the couple has prioritized spending time together.
“I don’t think we’ve been apart for more than two weeks since we came out of the Big Brother house,” Hughes revealed.
What’s surprising about their approach is the lack of pressure: “We haven’t even had the conversation about what to do next because there’s so much peace in the life we’re living right now.”
Traditional values in modern dating
When asked about the prospects of marriage despite their relatively new relationship, Hughes revealed her old-fashioned perspective: “Back in the day, people got married when it felt right.”
He emphasized following his intuition rather than societal expectations or “outside influences.”
Meeting the families
The relationship is deepening as they introduce each other to important people in their lives.
Hughes has already met Siwa’s family and is looking forward to introducing her to his family.
“The best part is bringing her into your world and showing some aspects of yourself,” he shared.
“Not pretending”
Speaking to The Guardian last month, the former Dance Moms contestant emphasized the authenticity of their relationship: “It’s a very real connection—we’re not pretending anything.”
Their chemistry, which developed under the watchful eye of reality TV cameras, is also flourishing away from the spotlight.
