Goodbye to ‘Swamp People’

Have you ever watched History Channel’s famous show ‘Swamp People’?

The story of these brave men who caught crocodiles in the swampy areas of Louisiana is famous all over the world.

Sadly, one of the show’s most legendary stars, Junior Edwards, is no longer with us.

Sad message from the family

On July 26, Junior’s grandson, “Lil” Willie Edwards, shared this sad news by sharing an emotional post on Facebook.

He wrote, “Rest in peace, Papaw… I know you’re up there throwing your nets inside the gates of heaven or doing something crazy.”

What a lovely and heart-touching message, isn’t it?

Legend of crocodile hunting

Junior is also being remembered by his fellow actors.

Ashley “Deadeye” Jones paid tribute to him, saying, “The world has lost a legend!

He was one of the greatest crocodile hunters!”

Ashley also shared a fun memory – “I saw this guy bring a giant alligator into Pierre Part’s Duffys gas station.

That was a long day for both of us!”

Health struggles

On July 6, just weeks before Junior’s death, Willie revealed that his grandfather was battling health issues.

He urged fans to pray – “We need a miracle. Get well for us dad, we love you!!!”

Long run on the show

Junior was a regular cast member of ‘Swamp People’ from 2010 to 2015.

He then returned for season 12 in 2021 and joked – “Surprise… look who’s back.”

He appeared on the show with his son Willie Edwards and grandson – three generations in one!

The show is about the descendants of French Canadian refugees who settled in Louisiana and made alligator hunting their profession.

A legacy that will live on

In a journey that spanned 14 years and 15 seasons, Junior showed what courage and hard work mean.

Although his age and the exact cause of dhis eath are yet to be revealed, his legacy will live on forever.

In memory of Junior Edwards, we send our condolences to his family.
