Special bonding formed in Vancouver
While shooting for Apple TV+’s thriller series “Smoke”, Jurnee Smollett brought her 8-year-old son Hunter to the set.
During this shoot in Vancouver, little Hunter made such a friendship with the series’ star Taron Egerton that he won everyone’s heart.
A heart-touching gift
When the shoot was over, Egerton gave Hunter a special gift – a Vancouver Canucks hockey jersey!
Hunter became a hockey fan while living in Canada.
According to Jurnee, “It was the sweetest gift, Hunter was thrilled!”
A child raised on the set
“I grew up on the set,” Hunter often says proudly.
Jurnee says that he sits very quietly during the shoot and watches the monitor when the scenes are appropriate for his age.
And not only this, he also asks the writers questions about the next episode! “Sometimes he even gives me spoilers!”
Jurnee laughs and says, “Hunter asks such questions to the writers that even I know what is going to happen next.
Sometimes he knows the plot twist before me!”
Mother became a star in childhood
Jurnee herself had started acting in childhood, but she does not want to put pressure on Hunter to act.
“If he is interested, he can take classes, but I want him to explore everything – sports, science, math – whatever he likes.”
Son’s varied interests
Hunter likes to play basketball and baseball.
His hobby is to do science experiments at home with his mother and solve challenging math problems.
Jurnee believes that children should find their passion themselves.
