Sam Elliott makes a powerful entry alongside Billy Bob Thornton in Landman Season 2.

Landman Season 2

Sam Elliott’s spectacular arrival

The game has begun as the second season of Taylor Sheridan’s hit series ‘Landman‘ begins! The biggest news of this season is the arrival of legendary actor Sam Elliott.

81, Sam takes on the role of Tommy Norris’s (Billy Bob Thornton) father, ‘T.L.’ His very first appearance showed that this character is no simpleton, but rather a man of his own convictions.

A Tragic News and T.L.’s Conviction

In the first episode of the season, T.L. is seen sitting in a wheelchair outside an assisted living facility. He is lost, watching the sun set. A worker calls him inside, but T.L. doesn’t like it at all.

Meanwhile, another worker, Hank, arrives with some bad news. He tells him he got a call from Amarillo Memory Care informing him that Dorothy had passed away.

Hearing this, T.L.’s eyes well up. He tells Hank, “I advise you to find a way to die quickly.”

The Real Secret of Mother’s Death

T.L.’s response to Hank’s reassurance was even more surprising. He said, “If I find her again, it means I’m in heaven too.”

Initially, he didn’t understand who Dorothy was. But in the final scene of the episode, Tommy tells his girlfriend, Angela, that while he was kissing her, he received a call saying someone had died.

When Angela asks, “Baby, who died?” Tommy’s answer surprises everyone: “My mom.”

New Story of a Father-Son Relationship

It’s now clear that Dorothy was Tommy’s mother. Tommy’s indifferent reaction to this sad news suggests that his relationship with his father, T.L., may not be particularly good either.

Sam Elliott’s character will now be clearly seen as his son. How these two meet each other during their adventure will be one of the most interesting aspects of Season 2. New episodes release every Sunday on Paramount+.
