Terminator fame Linda Hamilton felt uncomfortable being called a ‘legend’ on the set.

“I just play a character”
When crew members on the set of the new science-fiction action film ‘Osiris’ started greeting Linda Hamilton with “legends” and “icons,” she felt “very uncomfortable.”
“No, no, no. I just play a character,” the 68-year-old actress says.
Known for her tough roles in films like the ‘Terminator’ franchise and ‘Black Moon Rising,’ Hamilton considers herself an introvert who prefers to “disappear” rather than shine.
Crew’s enthusiasm vs. cast’s behavior
While the crew’s star-struck enthusiasm overwhelmed her, Hamilton says her fellow cast members responded with a more restrained, “everyday enthusiasm.”
“The actors keep it cool,” she explains. “Their enthusiasm is everyday, which I find endearing.”
This was more comfortable for her, as she never likes to feel “different.”
The journey began in the 80s
Hamilton first gained recognition in the ’80s series ‘Secrets of Midland Heights’ and ‘Kings Crossing’.
Then she earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for ‘Beauty and the Beast’ (1987-1990).
But her real identity came as Sarah Connor in James Cameron’s ‘Terminator’ films, which gave her the status of an action hero.
Thinking about retirement
Although Hamilton has talked about retirement many times, she admits she is “very bad” about it.
“I love work,” she says. “I don’t like traveling, but work motivates me.”
Despite announcing her retirement, she did not take a break – she completed the final season of ‘Resident Alien’ this year and is now set for a big role in ‘Stranger Things’ season 5, which comes this November.

An introvert’s acting career
“I’m definitely an introvert,” Hamilton says. “I think people either want to shine or they want to blend in, and I’m definitely in the other camp.”
It’s surprising that an introvert chose a profession like acting, where public recognition is a must.
Found stardom at craft service
Sharing an interesting anecdote from the set of ‘Osiris’, Hamilton said a man at craft service yelled out, “Oh my god, you’re Linda Hamilton…
You’re a legend. You’re an icon.” Though she appreciates such praise, she finds it embarrassing.
Summary:
‘Terminator’ fame Linda Hamilton felt uncomfortable being called a ‘legend’ on the set of ‘Osiris’. The introvert will continue to appear in ‘Stranger Things’ despite retirement.
