At Comic-Con 2025, Nathan Fillion shared some things about the new season that will surprise you!
Nathan Fillion Shooting in Prague
“When I first said I wanted to go to Prague for Season 8, I got some weird looks,” the show’s executive producer Alexi Hawley said.
This was a big step up in network TV’s budget!
Nathan joked, “It was like we were making Casino Royale!” Get ready to see John Nolan’s adventure in the beautiful streets of Prague!
The Double-Edged Sword of Fame
Fillion shared an interesting fact – “Our show has become so popular in Los Angeles that it’s hard to shoot!”
“People drive by and yell – ‘We love The Rookie!’ and we have to say cut. Then shoot from the beginning!”
However, he laughed and said, “But it’s a good problem to have!”
Family love
Sometimes the most special thing is to hear compliments from your loved ones.
Nathan said, “When the show started, my youngest niece Jordan said – ‘Nathan, you’re finally on a show I like!’ I said – ‘I’ve been on TV since before you were born.’ She replied – ‘I know!'”
We all laughed after hearing this!
Lucy’s undercover mission
What will happen in the new season? Hawley gave a small hint – “We are working on an undercover story for Lucy (Melissa O’Neil).” This is great news for fans!
Pete Davidson’s return?
Nathan wants Pete Davidson to return to the show. “He lives in a different world.
Every take is different, no two are the same!” Praising Pete, he said, “He is very sensitive and dedicated to his work.”
