A new face has entered the new episode of Boston Blue, and it’s none other than Dancing with the Stars winner Xochitl Gomez.
She plays “Penny” on the show, but her first meeting with Sean Reagan (Mika Amonsen) wasn’t like a fairytale.
Sean, now a rookie cop, mistakenly thought Penny was a fugitive suspect, gave chase, and apprehended her.
Interestingly, it turned out Penny was just jogging with headphones on!
Although it started with a comment about “idiot cops,” the two soon developed a sweet connection over comic books.

But the story took a turn when Sean’s partner, Jonah, revealed that Penny had a criminal record and was on probation.
When this matter reached Sean’s dad, Danny Reagan, his reaction was that of a strict police officer.
He bluntly stated, “You can’t be in a relationship with felons, no matter how cute they are.”
Poor Sean was trapped—on one side was his heart, on the other side was the police uniform and his dad’s principles.
When Penny herself stepped forward and asked for a date, Sean had to pull back, making Penny feel like she was being judged for her past.

They say love finds its way. While having dinner with Silver’s family, Sean saw a glimmer of hope.
He discovered that the Boston PD’s rules weren’t as strict as New York’s, and that there was a “loophole” that allowed him to date “recent felons” like Penny.
Knowing this, Sean regained his confidence. He vowed that he wouldn’t sit idly by and would clearly tell his dad that he couldn’t punish Penny for a lifetime for one mistake.
Danny’s Final Decision
The most touching moment of the episode came when Sean poured his heart out to Danny. Danny’s anger melted when he realized his son was truly serious about Penny.
Instead of holding back, he gave Sean the advice no one expected: “Don’t let anyone get in the way of your love, not even me.”
