Sigourney Weaver says that the new creatures and scope of Alien: Earth made it as fun as watching TV.

Unique conversation at TIFF
Sigourney Weaver shared a glimpse of Alien: Earth while promoting her new film, Dust Bunny, from the PEOPLE/EW and Shutterstock Studio stage at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
“I’m really enjoying it,” the 75-year-old actress said candidly.
Her enthusiastic lines make one realise that the new chapter of sci-fi is special.
New dimension of the franchise
Weaver said that Alien: Earth is not limited to just alien horror.
Fargo creator Noah Hawley has this time spread the franchise on a larger canvas, which focuses on the social, political and ecological issues of the next hundred years on Earth.
“This is the story of our world, which will dominate after 100 years.”
New creatures inspired by children
The concept of new creatures in the series is very fresh.
Hybrids like Sydney Chandler’s Wendy have human consciousness, which seems “remarkable” to watch.
Weaver said, “These creations are constantly building; there are new surprises in every episode.”
A confluence of cyborgs and synthetics
Alien: Earth not only features Xenomorphs, but also cyborgs like Babou Ceesay’s Morrow and synthetics like Timothy Olyphant’s Kirsh that complicate the story.
These characters add new challenges and moral questions to the sci-fi world.
The scariest monsters
“And the monsters that he’s also bringing in are just terrifying,” Weaver said with a smile.
“We didn’t have enough trouble with the aliens, now we need 50 more!”
His reaction reflects the excitement of childhood sci-fi movies.
Ripley’s legacy
Sigourney Weaver made history in the sci-fi world with the character of Ellen Ripley.
After her entry in Ridley Scott’s Alien in 1979, James Cameron’s Aliens in 1986 earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Actress.
Her comebacks in Alien 3 (1992) and Alien Resurrection (1997) were also unforgettable.
Synopsis
