A Sad Goodbye to a Legend
Claudio Gama is mourning the death of his husband, Anthony Geary, who passed away on December 14 at the age of 78.
Anthony was a famous star on the soap opera General Hospital. He died from complications after having surgery on December 11.
Claudio said the news was a total shock and felt like being hit by a “freight train.”
On December 22, Claudio shared a heartbreaking post on Instagram, explaining that their family gathered in Amsterdam to say a final goodbye.
He wrote that Anthony is now “resting where the stars shine bright.”
More Than Just an Actor
Anthony Geary was a television icon. He won eight Emmy Awards for playing the famous character Luke Spencer.
He helped make General Hospital one of the most popular shows on TV.
However, Claudio’s tribute showed a more personal side of the star. Beyond acting, Anthony loved:
- Dancing and singing.
- Drinking cola and eating PayDay candy bars.
- Spending time with his cats (their cat, Max, was even featured in the memorial photos).
A Long and Happy Marriage
Claudio and Anthony met in February 1995 and were together for over 30 years. They officially got married 24 years after they first met.
After Anthony retired from acting in 2015, the couple moved to Amsterdam to start a new chapter of their lives.
Anthony was excited to “reinvent himself” and enjoy a quiet life away from the Hollywood cameras.
