Even after leaving the ballroom of Dancing with the Stars, Whitney Leavitt isn’t stopping.
Recently, while speaking with host Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Whitney and her partner, Mark Ballas, captured everyone’s attention.
On the show, they performed the freestyle routine they missed in the DWTS finale.
That’s not all, Whitney gave fans another surprise—she announced that she would soon be starring in a movie.
Speaking about her feelings after her elimination, she said, “I’m grateful, but I’m also deeply sad.”
Purana Experience Turned Trouble
This journey wasn’t a smooth one for Whitney. She faced constant backlash, especially regarding her dance background.
People trolled her a lot because of her degree in Modern Dance from BYU. Whitney clarified that ballroom dancing was a completely new experience for her.
Furthermore, her “villain” image on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives also added fuel to the fire. She feared that this reality show scandal would ruin her DWTS journey.
Guilt and Tears for Mark
Whitney was most hurt when she saw that her partner, Mark Ballas, was also receiving hate comments.
Whitney said, “I’m already halfway through the hate, but seeing Mark so upset broke me.” She often felt that perhaps Mark was going through all this because of her.
Mark also revealed that he received some extremely mean and abusive comments, which deeply hurt him.
The trolling suddenly increased after the fifth week, which was nothing short of a nightmare for him.
Friendship and the Journey Ahead
How is Whitney feeling after leaving the show? She said, “It feels exactly like a breakup.”
Holding back tears, she called Mark her biggest support system and said she gained a “lifelong friend” from the show.
The good news for fans is that Whitney will be returning for the fourth season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
