It appears that Prince Harry is preparing for a return journey to the United Kingdom, where he is set to fly solo for the first time.

Contrary to reports and speculation circulating on social media, recent developments indicate that Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet will be staying put in California.

The Invictus Games Factor

The Duke of Sussex has a few Invictus Games to look forward to on his upcoming solo sojourn. For a man as passionately involved with the Invictus Games as Harry, the next set of competitions was bound to occupy a special place in his heart.

However, without Meghan tagging along, the experience will be somewhat devoid of the grandeur one has come to associate with the Duke’s appearances.

The Security Conundrum

The reason behind the family’s decision not to accompany the Duke has everything to do with security. As revealed by The Times of India, Harry and Meghan’s protection detail was deactivated the moment they laid down their royal duties as the third in line to the throne.

At the moment, the couple finds itself in limbo, with neither being able to get taxpayer-funded bodyguards to accompany them when outside their San Diego home.

An Offer From The King

The king has apparently been trying to woo Harry and Meghan back to London. However, it seems as if the offer came with too many strings attached.

In addition to allowing them to stay in royal residences, Charles has been willing to provide the couple with security details. That said, the level of protection would only be on when the Sussexes are within the confines of the royal estate.

Harry’s Reconciliation Efforts

Aside from his professional obligations, the upcoming reunion in the UK has a greater significance for the Duke. Recent developments indicate that Harry has, more than ever before, been trying to reconnect with his family.
